Cooking with Extra Virgin Olive Oil

One of the myths is that frying with extra virgin olive oil is bad and can be toxic!

Well, in Greece they have been frying and cooking with olive oil for centuries and still have one of the highest life expectancies in the world and one of the lowest rates of cancer incidents!

To justify their case, supporters of that myth refer to the smoking point of the oil, which is 208C or 406F.
The temperatures for deep frying and pan frying (the most popular way for frying in Greece) should never exceed 160C or 320F.
